Stephen Piscotty Dealing With Oblique Strain
5 years agoOakland Athletics outfielder Stephen Piscotty (hip, oblique) said that he's dealing with a strain of some fort on his left side, and he won't be able to play until at least the Vegas later this month. Piscotty should have time to get ready for Opening Day, but oblique/side injuries can often sidelined players for long stretches of time if they aren't careful. This is an injury to keep a close eye on as we move into March. The 29-year-old dealt with injuries last year and played in only 93 games, hitting .249/.309/.412 with 13 home runs and 44 RBI. It was a disappointment after he slugged a career-high 27 homers in 2018. Piscotty should only be targeted late in deep mixed drafts. His ceiling is limited playing in pitcher-friendly Oakland, too.
