Spencer Strider Dealing With Sore Oblique
2 years agoAtlanta Braves starting pitcher Spencer Strider (oblique) is dealing with a sore oblique and will have his next start pushed back a few days. As a result, Bryce Elder will get the nod on Wednesday against the Washington Nationals, and left-hander Max Fried will face the Philadelphia Phillies on Thursday. Strider was originally lined up to make his next start on Friday against the Phillies, but now it looks like he won't take the mound until early next week against the Nationals. The 23-year-old Strider has been a revelation for the Braves rotation this year, going 11-5 with a 2.67 ERA (1.83 FIP), a 0.99 WHIP, 202 strikeouts and 45 walks in 131 2/3 innings over 31 outings (20 starts). He'll be a must-start for fantasy managers next time he's out there.
