Spencer Arrighetti to Throw Off a Mound This Week
Spencer Arrighetti (thumb) will throw off a mound this week in West Palm Beach, Florida. Arrighetti is recovering from a broken right thumb that he suffered when he was hit by a ball during batting practice in early April, and he was transferred to the 60-day injured list last weekend. In a best-case scenario, the 25-year-old could return to the team's starting rotation in early July before the All-Star break. He allowed six earned runs with five walks and eight strikeouts in 9 2/3 innings in his first two starts in 2025 before his injury. Arrighetti isn't a must-hold in shallow fantasy leagues, but he'll be worth a look off the waiver wire once he's closer to a return to the big leagues. He was up and down in his rookie year in 2024, but he did have four games with 10-plus strikeouts.
