Shohei Ohtani Leaves With Arm Fatigue Wednesday
1 year agoLos Angeles Angels two-way superstar Shohei Ohtani (arm) left his start on the mound early in Game 1 of a doubleheader on Wednesday against the Cincinnati Reds due to arm fatigue. Ohtani left with trainers after throwing just 26 pitches. In his 1 1/3 innings scoreless innings of work, he walked one, struck out two and didn't allow a hit. The Japanese All-Star also hit his 44th home run of the season as the designated hitter early in this contest. Ohtani took a break from starting for two weeks due to arm fatigue, and it apparently hasn't gone away, so fantasy managers should prepare for more time off as a pitcher in the coming weeks. For now, consider him day-to-day as a hurler. Despite the arm issues, Ohtani hasn't allowed a run in his last four outings.
