Shohei Ohtani Hits 31st Home Run Sunday
3 years agoLos Angeles Angles two-way star Shohei Ohtani hit his major league-leading 31st home run of the season in a 6-5 win over the Baltimore Orioles. Ohtani tied Hideki Matsui's record for the most homers in a season by a Japanese-born player. The left-handed hitter now has 14 long balls in his last 17 games and was voted to his first All-Star team last week. Ohtani is the first American League player to hit 30 home runs and record 10 stolen bases in his team's first 81 games of a season. The 27-year-old now has 31 home runs, 67 RBI and a 1.070 OPS on the season and will make his next start on the mound on Tuesday against the Boston Red Sox. Fantasy managers obviously need to keep running Ohtani out there each and every day he's in the lineup.
