Sean Strickland suffered a split decision loss to Dricus Du Plessis in the main event of UFC 297 on Saturday to lose his middleweight title. Strickland started off strong as he outstruck Du Plessis 39-to-19 in the first round, but did get taken down twice in the opening five minutes. The next four rounds were very competitive, and although Strickland outstruck Du Plessis in three of the four rounds, two of the three judges' scored the fight for the South African. Although Strickland lost his title at UFC 297, he likely is only a win away from getting another title shot.--Cole Shelton
