5 years agoOakland Athletics starting pitcher Sean Manaea (shoulder) threw a bullpen session on Thursday. Manager Bob Melvin said that Manaea will not make another start in the minors this year. "Obviously, there's a good chance we'll see him in September," Melvin said. The left-hander hasn't made a start in 2019 while recovering from left shoulder surgery, but it looks like he'll be able to help the A's toward a playoff push in September. It's unknown if Oakland will use him as a starter or a reliever, but Manaea will be an extremely risky fantasy option down the stretch. He posted a 3.59 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and 6.0 K/9 in 27 starts in 2018.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
