Seahawks Want To Get Rashaad Penny More Involved
3 years agoSeattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll said that he hopes to get running back Rashaad Penny more involved in Week 8 against the Jacksonville Jaguars. The former first-rounder saw his first action in Week 7 since the season opener when he suffered a calf injury that landed him on Injured Reserve, and he gained only nine yards on six carries in 20 offensive snaps against the New Orleans Saints. "We really need him to be part of it. I would love to see a battle for the 1-2 spot between he and Alex Collins right now. And the other two guys (DeeJay Dallas and Travis Homer) are doing a nice job of complementing," Carroll said. It's good news for those who have stashed Penny for RB depth in deeper leagues, but until he's seeing a bigger workload and quarterback Russell Wilson (finger) returns, Penny will be hard to trust in starting lineups.
