Sam Darnold Could Miss Time With Shoulder Sprain
4 years agoNew York Jets head coach Adam Gase said that quarterback Sam Darnold (shoulder) could miss some time with the shoulder sprain that he played through in the Thursday night loss to the Broncos. "Anything’s on the table right now," Gase said. As if things couldn't get any worse for the 0-4 Jets. If Darnold is forced to miss time, it would be veteran Joe Flacco stepping in under center. He looked near the end in 2019 with the Broncos before suffering a season-ending neck injury. Not that any Jets player outside of Jamison Crowder is fantasy relevant, but a move to Flacco would make it hard to even recommend Crowder as a WR3. Through four games, Darnold has completed just 59.4 percent of his 138 attempts for 792 yards, three touchdowns and four interceptions. He doesn't have much to work with around him, but he hasn't done anything to make us trust him either.
