Although Ryan Blaney's disqualification was overturned only a few hours after my previous post, The Team Penske driver making the championship round of the NASCAR Cup Series playoffs still seems unlikely unless he wins at Martinsville because the Ford teams still lack the speed of the Toyotas and Chevies on intermediate tracks and he still sits seventeen points below the cut line. Intermediates have been a strength for Blaney as he ranks 11th in speed on intermediates while he ranks 15th in speed overall, but he only had elite speed on a non-drafting intermediate in his win at the Coca-Cola 600, and Homestead is very different from Charlotte. Blaney likely will need to win at Martinsville after a potentially poor result at Homestead compared to the Toyotas.--Sean Wrona - RotoBallerRead More News
