Royce Lewis To Have MRI Exam This Weekend
1 year agoMinnesota Twins infielder Royce Lewis (hamstring) will have an MRI exam on his injured hamstring when the team returns home this weekend. Lewis tweaked his hamstring in the game on Tuesday night and had to be removed. It's a situation that is yet to be determined, which means he's a candidate to go on the injured list. It's bad news for the Twins infield situation, as they just put shortstop Carlos Correa (foot) on the injured list as well while he deals with plantar fasciitis. Given the 24-year-old's injury history, it wouldn't be surprising if he was shut down for the rest of the regular season. Kyle Farmer should see everyday playing time at the 6 with Correa out, while Willi Castro should be a mainstay at the hot corner while Lewis heals up. Check back this weekend for an update on Lewis' condition and whether he has a chance to return this year.
