Roman Anthony in Three-Hole Against Seattle
Roman Anthony is starting in right field and is batting third in Monday's series opener on the road against the Seattle Mariners and right-hander Logan Gilbert (elbow), who is making his first start off the 15-day injured list. Anthony is being moved up to third in the batting order after the team surprisingly traded Rafael Devers to the San Francisco Giants on Sunday. The 21-year-old had hit fifth in his first four big-league games after recently being called up. Infielder Kristian Campbell is serving as the designated hitter and is batting ninth, while David Hamilton starts at second and hits seventh. Anthony, the team's second-round pick in 2022, has gone just 1-for-17 with three RBI in his first six big-league games, but he'll now have added RBI and run-scoring opportunities the rest of the way with Devers out of the picture.
