Richie James Likes Where He's At In Kansas City
1 year agoKansas City Chiefs wide receiver Richie James, who led all New York Giants receivers with 57 catches last year, likes his situation with his new team after inking a one-year deal this offseason. "It's very similar offenses," James said. "And you got the smartest and the greatest head coach you can possibly ask for." "Think he's a versatile guy, and he also does punt returns too. So he can take some pressure off K.T. (Kadarius Toney) or Skyy (Moore) or whoever's back there. Just having another guy is something we think is a plus," general manager Brett Veach said. Special teams coach Dave Toub said on June 1 that James was "definitely in the mix" for the team's role of starting punt returner. The 27-year-old could have a chance to carve out a role in the slot alongside Skyy Moore, but it's more of a long shot that he'll put up numbers similar to what he did last year.
