Reds Showing Interest In Reunion With Johnny Cueto
2 years agoThe Cincinnati Reds have shown interest in a reunion with free-agent right-hander Johnny Cueto, according to a source. Cueto, who turns 37 years old in February, made his major-league debut with the Reds back in 2008 and made the All-Star team with them in 2014. He was very solid for the Chicago White Sox in 2022, going 8-10 with a 3.35 ERA (3.79 FIP), a 1.22 WHIP and a career-low 15.7 percent strikeout rate in 158 1/3 innings over 25 appearances (24 starts). The two-time All-Star isn't a big strikeout guy at the tail end of his career, but he's a solid innings-eater and could be a good fit for the rebuilding Reds' starting rotation.
