The Toronto Blue Jays are placing outfielder Randal Grichuk on the disabled list due to a right knee sprain, according to Shi Davidi of Sportsnet. For now, this clears up the outfield logjam Toronto currently has with Teoscar Hernandez, Kevin Pillar, and Curtis Granderson all playing well. Of course, Grichuk has been the odd man out in that he is the one who hasn’t been playing well. Quite the opposite of well, in fact. Grichuk is slashing a terrible .106/.208/.227 (.435 OPS) across 77 plate appearances in his first year up north, and so perhaps this time off will do him some good. Infielder Gift Ngoepe has been recalled in Grichuk’s place, but won’t carry any consistent fantasy value.--John Smith
