Rams, Cooper Kupp Making Progress On Extension
3 years agoThe Los Angeles Rams and Super Bowl MVP wide receiver Cooper Kupp have made significant progress on a new contract extension that will make him among the highest-paid receivers in the NFL, according to sources. It will likely be a three-year deal, and it will give Kupp well beyond $20 million per year based on new-money average. A deal isn't done, but there's a possibility that an extension could be agreed upon by Wednesday night. The 28-year-old had a career year in 2021 in his first season with quarterback Matthew Stafford, leading the league in catches (145), targets (191), receiving yards (1,947) and touchdowns (16) in 17 regular season games. As a result, he'll probably be the first receiver off the board in the first round of fantasy football drafts this fall.
