The Las Vegas Raiders signed free-agent tight end Carson Williams to an undisclosed deal on Monday. Williams has not played football since eighth grade but played college basketball at Northern Kentucky and Western Kentucky. The 6-foot-5, 240-pounder started 117 collegiate games as a forward. He caught the attention of scouts and the Raiders at his Pro Day. Williams had a 38-inch vertical, 9-foot-7 broad jump, 18 repetitions on the bench press and a mid-4.7-second 40-yard dash on a bad hamstring. Most teams were looking at him as a developmental tight end or offensive lineman. The Raiders obviously view him more as a tight end. There's no guarantee that he'll pan out, but it's an interesting addition to an offense that already has one of the best TEs in the league in Darren Waller.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
