Rafael Devers Logs Four Hits On Saturday
3 years agoBoston Red Sox third baseman Rafael Devers went 4-for-5 with a double, three singles, and a strikeout during Game 1 of Saturday's doubleheader against the Baltimore Orioles. Although he wound up going 0-for-4 in Game 2, Devers' overall production at the plate this season has been otherworldly. He ranks among the top 10 percent of hitters in exit velocity, hard hit rate, xwOBA, xBA, and xSLG. He also leads all of MLB with 19 doubles, and 69 hits. Over his last 15 games along, the 25-year-old star is slashing .424/.449/.818 with five homers, nine RBI, and nine doubles. He is neck-and-neck with Jose Ramirez as the duo set their sights on a well-deserved All-Star Game selection. Although results of that contest remain unclear, one thing is certain: Devers could be a fantasy league-winner in 2022 and has established himself as a start-and-forget weapon for the remainder of the season.
