Pirates, Bryan Reynolds Agree On Eight-Year Extension
2 years agoThe Pittsburgh Pirates and outfielder Bryan Reynolds agreed to an eight-year, $106.75 million contract extension on Tuesday, according to sources. According to ESPN's Jeff Passan, the deal includes a club option that doesn't have an opt-out. MLB.com's Mark Feinsand reports that ninth-year option is worth $20 million, and Reynolds will have the ability to block a trade to six teams. The Pirates are off to a great start in 2023 and just handed out the largest contract in their franchise history. The 28-year-old Reynolds has been very consistent in his time in the big leagues. He's currently on the bereavement list, but he should return soon to a strong .294/.319/.553 slash line with five doubles, a triple, five home runs, 18 RBI and three stolen bases in his first 22 games.
