Phillies More Unlikely To Re-Sign J.T. Realmuto?
4 years agoWith every addition that the Mets and Braves make to their already strong rosters in the National League East, the thought of the Philadelphia Phillies making the postseason in the short term becomes less realistic, which in turn could make re-signing catcher J.T. Realmuto less likely. Realmuto will turn 30 years old in March and has been expected to receive a deal of at least four or five years that will take him into his mid-30s. The Phillies best shot at making the playoffs over the next three years would be tied to whether Major League Baseball keeps an expanded playoff format. The Phillies could still bring Realmuto back and have already made him an offer, but the chances of that happening could be diminishing. But wherever he lands, Realmuto should still be considered the top fantasy catcher in 2021 drafts.
