Patrick Mahomes To Have Surgery Wednesday
4 years agoKansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes (toe) will have surgery on Wednesday to fix a torn plantar plate in his foot, which is also known as turf toe, according to a source. The rehab will be for several months, but Mahomes is expected to make a full recovery. Noted foot specialist Dr. Robert Anderson will perform the surgery. While Mahomes played through the injury in the playoffs, it was a significant ailment and it was clear that he was not 100 percent when he tried to tuck the ball and run. The 25-year-old former MVP will be fully ready for training camp and the 2021 season. His battered offensive line didn't give him much of a chance in the Super Bowl loss to the Buccaneers, but Mahomes will be motivated to put that performance past him next season. Mahomes is still the best quarterback in the NFL from a pure athleticism standpoint and should be the first signal-caller selected in fantasy drafts this fall.
