Pat Freiermuth Out With Concussion Wednesday
3 years agoPittsburgh Steelers rookie tight end Pat Freiermuth (concussion) did not take part in practice on Wednesday. Freiermuth is in the league's concussion protocol after suffering a head injury in the Week 15 win over the Tennessee Titans. It remains to be seen if he'll be available for this Sunday's game against the Kansas City Chiefs. When healthy, though, Freiermuth has been a trusted target for quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, especially in the red zone. The 23-year-old comes into this week as the TE11, mainly being carried by his seven trips to paydirt in 14 games. If he clears the protocols and plays this weekend, he'll be a low-end TE1 in fantasy. Zach Gentry stands to see an expanded role if Freiermuth is inactive. Eric Ebron (knee) remains on Injured Reserve.
