Panthers Open To Moving Back In First Round Of Draft
4 years agoThe Carolina Panthers have talked to "at least five teams" about trading back from the No. 8 overall pick in the first round of next Thursday's NFL draft. "We're very open to moving back," general manager Scott Fitterer said. "It just depends on how the first seven picks go." A best-case scenario for the Panthers to trade back could be if one or more of the top-five quarterbacks fall to No. 8, although Carolina is also interested in the top QBs in this year's class if one of them falls to them at No. 8. The Jacksonville Jaguars, New York Jets and San Francisco 49ers are expected to take QBs with the top three picks. The Panthers are expected to pick up quarterback Sam Darnold's fifth-year option, which makes it unlikely that they'd take a signal-caller at No. 8 overall.
