Pittsburgh Pirates right-handed pitching prospect
Mike Burrows struck out a season-high 11 batters across 4 2/3 innings of work during his start against Triple-A Columbus on Sunday. Burrows did not allow a run. He served up two walks and allowed four hits. The 25-year-old was promoted to the major leagues earlier this summer but was not given an opportunity to pitch. In 2024, Burrows made his MLB debut and logged just 3 1/3 innings to the tune of a 2.70 ERA. Through 27 1/3 innings of work at Triple-A Indianapolis this season, Burrows has posted a solid 2.63 ERA with a 1.06 WHIP. Across this stint, he struck out 36 batters and served up 10 walks. Given his steady performance at Triple-A, he should be in the mix to re-join Pittsburgh later this summer.

Colorado Rockies catching prospect
Cole Carrigg has begun to snap his power skid. Over his previous two contests, Carrigg has launched three long balls. On Sunday, he went deep twice. However, prior to this two-game surge, Carrigg did not go deep for seven games. Through the first 28 games of the Double-A campaign, the No. 3-ranked prospect in the system and held a 282/.388/.563 slash line with four doubles, two triples, and seven home runs. Carrigg has swiped nine bags and held a 33:14 K:BB. Last season, the backstop spent most of his season with High-A, where he held a .280/.358/.475 line with 16 doubles and 16 home runs across 111 contests. Given his steady progression at Double-A, the San Diego State product could be in the mix to reach Triple-A later this summer.

Toronto Blue Jays right-handed pitching prospect
Juaron Watts-Brown allowed just two hits across six shutout frames on Sunday. In this outing, Watts-Brown struck out 10 batters. This was the third time this season that Watts-Brown hit double-digit strikeouts in a start. In addition, this was also a nice bounce-back outing for Watts-Brown as he allowed a season-high five runs in his last start on May 6 against High-A Spokane. Through 32 1/3 innings at High-A, Watts-Brown has struggled at times as he holds a 3.90 ERA with a 1.24 WHIP. However, he has flashed elite strikeout upside, tallying 54 over this stretch. Last summer, during his first 45 1/3 innings at High-A, Watts-Brown struck out 57 batters but held a higher 6.35 ERA. Given his lack of consistency, the 23-year-old will likely remain at High-A throughout most of the first half.

Chicago Cubs infield prospect
Jefferson Rojas went 3-for-4 with two home runs and three RBI during their contest against High-A Fort Wayne. Rojas has enjoyed an impressive surge at the plate at High-A. Over his last 11 contests, the 20-year-old has posted a stellar .405/.458/.762 slash line with one double, one triple, four long balls, five stolen bases, and 15 RBI. Prior to this stretch, the No. 7-ranked prospect in the system held a modest .184/.311/.237 line through the first 10 games of the High-A regular season. Rojas spent most of the 2024 campaign with High-A South Bend and has continued to show growth through the opening month of the season. If Rojas continues to swing a hot bat, he should be in the mix to reach Double-A in the coming weeks.

The Arizona Diamondbacks are calling up top prospect infielder
Jordan Lawlar, according to Nick Piecoro of the Arizona Republic. Lawlar, MLB Pipeline's No. 4 overall prospect, hit .336/.413/.579 with six homers and 13 steals in Triple-A this season. Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo said on Sunday that the team can find ways for Lawlar to get into the lineup, even with a seemingly stacked infield. The 22-year-old should get into around four games a week, which isn't ideal for fantasy but should be enough to not stunt his growth. Even with the diminished playing time, Lawlar is a must-add in all fantasy formats. He might not be startable right away, but if he hits well he will end up playing more often and could become a fantasy standout.

Philadelphia Phillies starting pitcher
Zack Wheeler shut down the Cleveland Guardians on Sunday, tossing seven shutout innings in a 3-0 victory. Wheeler only allowed three hits and two walks while striking out eight. It was the 34-year-old's fifth straight quality start, as he has once again been a consistent ace on the bump. He has a 4-1 record to go with a 2.95 ERA, 0.91 WHIP, and 74 strikeouts over 58 IP. Those numbers are some of the best in the game, and even in his mid-30's he is proving to be a stud in fantasy. His next start is scheduled for Saturday in a tasty matchup at home against the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Miami Marlins starting pitcher
Eury Perez (elbow) tossed three scoreless innings in his fourth rehab start with Low-A Jupiter on Sunday. Perez allowed three hits and struck out five while walking none. He got up to 42 pitches in this one, which is his highest yet. The righty is expected to make around four more starts in the minors, likely in Triple-A, before returning to the bigs. His long-awaited return from Tommy John surgery is on the horizon, and fantasy managers should be stashing him now in anticipation. The 22-year-old showcased sky-high upside in his rookie campaign and has a chance to become a fantasy asset in the second half of this season. His next rehab start will likely come Friday or Saturday and could be in Triple-A.

Kyle Schwarber provided all the offense for his team on Sunday, smacking two homers and driving in three runs in a 3-0 win over the Cleveland Guardians. Schwarber hit a solo shot in the second frame and then went deep again in the eighth, this time with a runner on. The 32-year-old slugger is now hitting .269 with a .998 OPS, 29 runs, 14 homers, 32 RBI, and four steals. With the significantly improved average and occasional steal, Schwarber has somehow become a premier five-category contributor this season. Regression in the batting average and steal departments is expected, but if he can even remain average in those two, then he could be one of the best players in fantasy. To help Schwarbs' case even further, it looks like he will gain outfield eligibility on many platforms soon.

Texas Rangers starting pitcher
Nathan Eovaldi was dominant in a 6-1 win over the Tigers on Sunday, striking out seven over seven shutout innings while allowing two hits and one walk. This is the fourth straight start where he's allowed one run or less, and he's yet to give up more than three in a start all season. The 35-year-old has surprisingly been one of the best pitchers in baseball, and he now has a 1.78 ERA and 0.75 WHIP through 55 ⅔ innings. A lot of that is thanks to his elite control, as his 2.2% walk rate ranks in the top one percent of the league. He'll look to keep things rolling in his next start, which is set to be against the Astros.

Yainer Diaz hit his fourth home run of the season on Sunday, a three-run shot in a 6-0 win over the Reds. He's now slashing .238/.267/.385 on the season, but that doesn't necessarily tell the whole story. He was one of the coldest hitters in baseball through the first couple of weeks of 2025, but he has quietly been himself as of late. Heading into Sunday, he was batting .304 over the past month and .370 in the past two weeks. The 26-year-old remains the best option for batting average at the position and looks to be on his way to another season as one of the best offensive catchers in the league.

Houston Astros starting pitcher
Ronel Blanco pitched a gem on Sunday, tossing eight shutout innings with 11 strikeouts in a 6-0 win against the Reds. He allowed two hits and walked one. While this would be the best start of most pitchers' careers, this comes in a close second to Blanco's no-hitter in his first start of 2024. This is the best he has looked this season by far, generating 16 whiffs on the night. The 31-year-old has been solid but unexciting up until this point, allowing more than three runs in a start only once but also allowing less than two runs only once. This is a reminder of Blanco's ceiling when everything is working at its best, and he's a solid mid-tier rotation option for fantasy.

Los Angeles Dodgers starting pitcher
Tony Gonsolin pitched five scoreless innings in Sunday's 8-1 win over the Diamondbacks, allowing three hits and two walks while striking out four. Although his strikeouts decreased in this outing, holding a tough Diamondbacks offense to no runs is certainly something to be happy about. Gonsolin had two easy matchups against the Marlins in each of his first two starts, so this outing proved that those weren't flukes. The 30-year-old has been nothing but solid since returning to the mound for the first time since 2023, and should be rostered in most fantasy leagues with the Dodgers' offense backing him.

Freddie Freeman was perfect at the dish on Sunday, going 4-for-4 with a home run, two doubles, three RBI, and two runs scored in an 8-1 victory over the Diamondbacks. The 35-year-old has shown no signs of regressing with age, as he's been one of the best hitters in the league with a .376/.437/.734 slash line. He's been an RBI machine, driving in 33 runs in 30 games with nine home runs. He'll continue to rack up the counting stats all year long in the heart of the Dodgers' lineup.

George Springer kept up his torrid start to the season, going 3-for-5 with a home run, a double, three RBI, and two runs in Sunday's 9-1 win over the Mariners. The veteran is now slashing .297/.404/.517 with five home runs and six stolen bases on the year. This is looking like a true resurgence for the former superstar, after many wrote him off after he hit .220 in 2024. It's unlikely he keeps up this pace for the whole year, but he will still be a valuable asset for fantasy as a potential 20-homer and 20-steal threat.
