Detroit Tigers starting pitcher
Jackson Jobe picked up his third win of the season in Monday's 14-2 drubbing of the Red Sox. Jobe pitched 5 2/3 innings, allowing one run on three hits (including a solo home run) and five walks with seven strikeouts. He also hit a batter. The 22-year-old came into the season as one of fantasy's top prospects, and while he is 3-0 in seven starts, his performance has left some things to be desired. He owns a 4.32 ERA with a 1.47 WHIP, a 7.29 K/9 rate, and a 5.40 BB/9 rate in 33 1/3 IP. Walks were an issue at times throughout his minor-league career and have carried over to the big leagues for Jobe. His next scheduled start will be a decent matchup at the Blue Jays. His WHIP may cause concerns for fantasy managers in roto/category leagues, but he could be considered a start for those in points leagues.

New York Yankees third baseman
Oswaldo Cabrera (ankle) left Monday's 11-5 win against the Mariners in the top of the ninth inning with what appeared to be a serious left ankle injury. Cabrera was attempting to tag up from third base on an
Aaron Judge fly-out and had his leg give out while trying to score. The training staff instantly came out to assist, and Cabrera was placed on a stretcher before being taken out of the stadium in an ambulance. The 26-year-old went 1-for-4 with a single and a walk in the game. Cabrera's health is more important than his potential fantasy contributions, and more information on his injury should become available in the coming days.

San Diego Padres general manager A.J. Preller said Monday that catching prospect
Ethan Salas (back) has a stress reaction in his lower back and will be out into July, per MLB.com's AJ Cassavell. However, the Padres are optimistic that simply resting will only be required for his recovery and that his development should not suffer, other than missing games. The 18-year-old Salas is the Padres' No. 2 prospect and is the No. 29 overall prospect, per MLB Pipeline. His production with Double-A San Antonio has not yet matched his hype, as he has slashed .188/.325/.219 with no home runs, five RBI, and two stolen bases in 41 plate appearances. Salas has been talked about in fantasy circles for some time now and plays a weak position, so fantasy managers in dynasty leagues or keeper leagues may want to hold onto him still if they can.

Boston Red Sox right-hander
Tanner Houck turned in another poor start in Monday's 14-2 loss to the Tigers. Houck pitched just 2 1/3 innings, allowing 11 runs on nine hits (including two home runs) and three walks with no strikeouts. He also hit a batter. The 28-year-old had a solid 2024 campaign but has not been able to get anything going in 2025. He is now 0-3 with an 8.04 ERA, a 1.69 WHIP, a 6.60 K/9, and a 2.06 HR/9 in nine starts and 43 2/3 innings. Houck has allowed 11 runs in two of his starts and has only avoided homers in two of his starts. It has been extremely frustrating for fantasy managers, who may be hoping for Houck to return to his 2024 form, but who cannot afford to start him. His next scheduled start is a middling one against the Braves, but fantasy managers may be wise to sit him until he can string together a few encouraging starts.

Moises Ballesteros is expected to be called up to likely start in Tuesday's game against the Marlins. This will be a corresponding move as
Ian Happ (oblique) gets placed on the injured list with an oblique issue. The 21-year-old Ballesteros is the Cubs No. 4 prospect, per MLB Pipeline. He has crushed the baseball this season with Triple-A Iowa, slashing .368/.420/.522 with four home runs, 18 RBI, and three stolen bases in 150 plate appearances. Ballesteros has produced high batting averages and slugging percentages throughout his career, making him an intriguing fantasy player at a weak position. Fantasy managers may not want to pick him up right away without seeing him in big-league action, but they should keep a close eye on his first few games.

Chicago White Sox catching prospect
Kyle Teel went 1-for-2 with two walks, an RBI, and two runs scored on Sunday for Triple-A Charlotte, extending his current hit streak to 12 games and hitting safely in 19 of his last 20. During the 12-game stretch, the left-handed hitter is 15-for-44 (.341), raising his season-long slash line to .264/.361/.416 with a .358 wOBA and 107 wRC+. The former first-round draft pick is expected to make a big league debut this year, and it could come within the next month if he keeps hitting. Chicago's second-ranked prospect would in all likelihood join fellow prospect (Chicago's No. 5)
Edgar Quero at the big league level, but with Quero holding his own in the majors, it's unclear what type of playing time split there would be, which could limit Teel's usefulness for fantasy.

Tampa Bay Rays outfielder
Josh Lowe (oblique) went 2-for-3 with two singles, a run scored and a walk in a minor-league rehab appearance with Triple-A Durham on Sunday while serving as the Bulls' designated hitter. Lowe moved his rehab assignment from the rookie-level Florida Complex League to Triple-A last Thursday after hitting a two-run homer with two walks in five plate appearances in the FCL. In three games with the Bulls, the 27-year-old left-handed hitter has gone 2-for-9 with three walks and four strikeouts. Lowe suffered a right-oblique strain on Opening Day but could be ready to make his return from the injured list by the weekend or early next week if he can avoid a setback. His intriguing mix of power and speed -- he hit 20 bombs and stole 32 bases in 2023 -- makes him stash-worthy in all fantasy leagues, and he should be an everyday player in Tampa when he returns.

Cleveland Guardians outfield prospect
Jaison Chourio injured his right shoulder during an at-bat back on May 3, and although he finished the AB, he was removed from the game afterward. The switch-hitter has not appeared in a game for High-A Lake County since then, however, no update on his status has been provided. The 19-year-old had a great season at Single-A last year, slashing .269/.414/.398 with five home runs, 44 steals, a .395 wOBA, and a 144 wRC+, but High-A was proving a bit more challenging this year. The 6-foot-1 slugger was hitting just .214 through 21 games, but was still getting on base thanks to his ability to draw walks, registering an impressive 17:21 K:BB in 91 PA. Chourio isn't expected to make it to the majors for a couple of years, but with solid contact ability, a keen eye, and a penchant for stealing bases, this injury is something to monitor in the event it jeopardizes his timeline at all.

Seattle Mariners right-hander
Logan Gilbert (elbow) said that he will throw his first bullpen session on Tuesday. Gilbert threw off the mound to a standing catcher on Sunday. It's still to be determined on when he will possibly start a minor-league rehab assignment, but the 28-year-old reiterated that everything has felt good with his right elbow at every step so far. Gilbert was placed on the 15-day injured list in late April with a right-elbow injury, but as long as he doesn't suffer a setback as he begins ramping up, there's a chance he could be back for fantasy managers and in Seattle's starting rotation by the end of May. The former 14th overall pick in 2018 out of Stetson University is a must-start in fantasy each and every time he takes the mound when he's healthy. He had a 2.37 ERA and 0.79 WHIP with 44 punchouts in 30 1/3 innings in his six starts before getting hurt.

Milwaukee Brewers infield prospect
Jesus Made rose 26 spots on MLB.com's latest refresh of its top prospects list, moving from No. 49 to No. 23 overall, and currently ranks No. 1 in the Brewers' farm system. The 6-foot-1 slugger hit .331 in the Dominican Summer League in 2024, and boasts a .311/.418/.456 slash line with three home runs and 13 stolen bases through 26 games at Single-A this season as an 18-year-old. The switch-hitter appears destined to test his mettle at High-A by midseason and could reach the upper levels of the minors in 2026. The big leagues are likely a couple of years away, but he has all the tools to be an impact player once he arrives, so it's worth staying on top of his progress.

Seattle Mariners right-hander
George Kirby (shoulder) said he will make another minor-league rehab start for Triple-A Tacoma on Friday at Triple-A Albuquerque, which will potentially put him in line to make his 2025 debut with the Mariners next Thursday in Houston against the division-rival Astros. In his second rehab start with Tacoma on Saturday, Kirby gave up three runs on four hits while walking two and striking out five in three innings. The 27-year-old looked sharp, though, with his fastball topping out at 97.6 mph while he mixed in his splitter and knuckle curve. He threw 36 of his 54 pitches for strikes. Kirby was initially shut down on March 7 with right-shoulder inflammation in spring training, which led to his first career stint on the IL to begin the season. While Kirby's strikeout rate leaves something to be desired, he's one of the best at limiting walks in the big leagues and should be stashed in all fantasy formats.

MLB.com's Adam McCalvy reports that Milwaukee Brewers right-hander
Brandon Woodruff (ankle, shoulder) will not come off the 15-day injured list to make his 2025 season debut this weekend against the Minnesota Twins and will instead get treatment for his ankle tendinitis for the next week and make another minor-league rehab start. The Brewers aren't going to take any chances with a pitcher that missed all of 2024 due to right-shoulder surgery that he had in September of 2023. Woodruff only went 2 1/3 innings in his sixth minor-league rehab start with Triple-A Nashville on Sunday and will be given one more rehab start before Milwaukee re-evaluates the 32-year-old veteran's ankle. Woodruff operated as a fantasy ace before his shoulder surgery in 2023, but fantasy managers will want to temper expectations for him upon his return as he's eased back into the big-league rotation.

Chicago Cubs catching prospect
Moises Ballesteros went 2-for-4 on Sunday for Triple-A Iowa, giving him back-to-back multi-hit efforts as he continues to maintain a superb .368/.420/.522 slash line at the highest level of the minors. There still isn't a path to at-bats in the majors for the 5-foot-8 backstop, but his bat keeps pushing for a big league debut, which is currently estimated to happen sometime in June. When that happens, if the left-handed slugger can find regular ABs then he could prove to be a viable fantasy asset, not only because of his offensive prowess, but because he would be doing so in a potent Cubs offense. He could become one of the top prospect stashes the closer it gets to June, especially in NL-only and two-catcher leagues, so make sure to stay on top of any updates in that regard.

Milwaukee Brewers left-hander
Jose Quintana (shoulder) has been dealing with left-shoulder soreness after his last time out last Friday against the Tampa Bay Rays and will get some extra days of rest this week before his next appearance, according to Bally Sports Wisconsin's Sophia Minnaert. Quintana said he was feeling better on Monday and plans to throw a bullpen session on Wednesday to get ready to start on either Friday or Saturday versus the Minnesota Twins. The 36-year-old veteran southpaw went 5 1/3 innings against Tampa, allowing three runs (one earned) on seven hits (one homer) while walking two and striking out three for a no-decision. The Twins have been a favorable matchup for pitchers in 2025, but Quintana, who doesn't miss many bats, will be an even riskier fantasy streamer if he starts this weekend. He's gone 4-1 with a nice 2.65 ERA in six starts, but only with 24 K's in 34 innings.
