The Detroit Lions re-signed defensive end Al-Quadin Muhammad to an undisclosed one-year deal on Wednesday, according to agents Drew Rosenhaus and Robert Bailey. Muhammad will return to the Motor City in 2025 to serve as a rotational defensive lineman once again, so he won't be worth a look at all in IDP fantasy formats. Last year in nine regular-season games (two starts), he produced just 11 tackles (eight solo), three sacks and five QB hits. The 29-year-old pass-rusher from the University of Miami (FL) entered the NFL in 2017 as a sixth-round pick (196th overall) by the New Orleans Saints. Muhammad spent just one year with the Saints before spending 2018-21 with the Indianapolis Colts. He has only 15 total sacks in his 93 games played (36 starts) over seven NFL seasons.

Free-agent linebacker Willie Gay signed an undisclosed one-year deal with the Miami Dolphins on Wednesday, a source told ESPN's Jeremy Fowler. Gay will head back to the AFC after spending the 2024 season with the New Orleans Saints, where he had a career-low 28 tackles (19 solo), two sacks, a forced fumble and two fumble recoveries in 15 games (eight starts). The 27-year-old was originally a second-round pick (63rd overall) by the Kansas City Chiefs in 2020 out of Mississippi State. In Miami, we'd expect Gay to be competing for a depth role at the linebacker spot this summer in training camp. He's well off the IDP fantasy radar at the position, with his best season coming in 2022 with the Chiefs, when he had 88 tackles (51 solo), 2.5 sacks, nine tackles for loss, an interception returned for a touchdown, eight passes defensed and a fumble recovery in 13 regular-season starts.

The Houston Texans released cornerback Anthony Averett and waived safety Brandon Hill (leg) and wide receiver
Kearis Jackson on Tuesday, according to KPRC's Aaron Wilson. Hill was waived with a failed-physical designation after he missed all of the 2024 season due to a right-leg injury. Averett, 30, hasn't appeared in an NFL game since 2022 with the Las Vegas Raiders. He latched on with the Texans' practice squad before the postseason but is now back on the open market. Averett had 13 tackles (12 solo) in seven games with the Raiders in 2022. Hill, 24, will need to prove his healthy before another team takes a chance on him. He has only played in two career games (in 2023 with Houston) and has zero tackles. Jackson, 25, spent most of last season on the New York Giants' practice squad. In the only two games of his career (in 2023 with the Titans), he returned six punts for 48 yards.

The Las Vegas Raiders announced on Tuesday that they re-signed free-agent defensive tackle Zachary Carter to an undisclosed deal. The Bengals took him in the third round (95th overall) in the 2022 NFL draft out of the University of Florida. Carter has never had more than 23 total tackles in his three seasons in the NFL as mostly a reserve defensive tackle, but he could have a shot to compete for a bigger role in Vegas in his first full season with the team in 2025.

Former Tennessee Titans offensive guard Dillon Radunz is set to visit with the Seattle Seahawks on Wednesday, according to NFL Network's Mike Garafolo. The 2021 second-round pick out of North Dakota State has appeared in 54 games (31 starts) and has played both tackle and guard. The 26-year-old allowed six sacks last season, good for one of the worst totals among all starting guards. Seattle is looking to rebuild its offensive line and add depth to the room that struggled last year, so Radunz could make sense as a cheap depth option for 2025.
