Shohei Ohtani Blasts League-Leading 19th Homer
Shohei Ohtani didn't take long to deliver during Monday's game against the Cleveland Guardians. Ohtani smacked the first pitch he saw for a 378-foot home run in the opening frame versus right-hander Gavin Williams. He was busy on the base paths as Ohtani went 1-for-3 with a home run, two walks, and three runs scored in the win. Ohtani has homered in back-to-back games and this one marked his league-leading 19th home run of the season. There is a chance that his hitting is dialed back a bit once he's pitching again, but fantasy managers don't need to worry about that for another month or two.Source: mlb.com
Los Angeles Dodgers two-way superstar Orlando Arcia Joins Rockies
Orlando Arcia on Monday. Arcia was released over the weekend after struggling with the Atlanta Braves to begin the season. The 30-year-old has seen his numbers take a dive since his All-Star season in 2023. It's unclear how he'll fit into the Rockies lineup, but they could use all the help they can get right now. Ezequiel Tovar is the everyday shortstop, but maybe Arcia gets a chance at second base with Adael Amador struggling right now. Regardless, it's unlikely that Arcia produces enough to warrant rostering him in most fantasy formats.Source: Daniel Alvarez-Montes
The Colorado Rockies have reportedly signed free-agent shortstop Adrian Houser Tosses Six Scoreless Innings
Adrian Houser was once again excellent on the mound during Monday's game against the New York Mets. Houser recently joined the South Siders and has been basically untouchable on the mound since doing that. On Monday, Houser tossed six scoreless innings, allowing three hits, and striking out six batters in a no-decision. He has thrown 12 straight scoreless frames with his new team. The track record would suggest that Houser will come back down to Earth soon, so fantasy managers don't need to jump on the waiver wire just yet. Houser might be worth rostering in AL-only formats, but isn't a must-have pitcher despite his recent success.Source: mlb.com
Chicago White Sox starting pitcher Francisco Lindor Delivers Walk-Off Sacrifice Fly
Francisco Lindor was the hero with the bat during Monday's game against the Chicago White Sox. For some reason, the Mets bats looked lost against right-hander Adrian Houser during this game. They were able to scratch across a run and tie the game until Lindor delivered a game-winning sacrifice fly in the ninth inning. It wasn't the most dramatic way to win a game with a bases loaded sac fly, but Mets fans will take it. Lindor finished the game 1-for-4 with one RBI as the Mets take the first game of this series.Source: mlb.com
New York Mets shortstop Kevin Gausman Goes Eight Strong Innings
Kevin Gausman has been extremely solid on the mound over his last two starts. On Monday, Gausman tossed eight innings, allowing one earned run on six hits, while striking out six batters in the win. The right-hander has been showing great command lately as he hasn't walked a batter in four straight starts. Gausman has struck out six batters or more in three straight appearances. He made easy work of the Texas Rangers on Monday and will look to keep the good times rolling against the A's in his next start.Source: mlb.com
Toronto Blue Jays starting pitcher Jacob deGrom Doesn't Record a Strikeout
Jacob deGrom did something for the first time in his career on Monday. The right-hander failed to record a strikeout during his outing for the first time in 229 career starts. He threw 5 1/3 innings, allowing two earned runs on five hits and walked two batters. He somehow went the whole game without striking out a single one of the Toronto Blue Jays hitters. This wasn't a good outing for fantasy managers, but deGrom has allowed two earned runs or less in eight straight starts. He'll look to rack up some strikeouts against the St. Louis Cardinals in his next start.Source: mlb.com
Texas Rangers starting pitcher Jackson Chourio Homers in Win
Jackson Chourio saw his five-game hitting streak come to an end on Sunday. However, Chourio started a new streak during Monday's game versus the Boston Red Sox. Chourio wasted no time as he blasted a leadoff home run off left-hander Garrett Crochet to begin the game. It was the first pitch he saw, which isn't surprising given Chourio likes swinging early in the count. He finished the day 1-for-4 with that solo homer and one RBI in the win. It hasn't been a good month at the plate for Chourio, but fantasy managers should ride it out.Source: mlb.com
Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Eduardo Rodriguez to Throw a Bullpen on Tuesday
Eduardo Rodriguez (shoulder) will throw a bullpen session on Tuesday after he threw three innings and 55 pitches in a simulated game over the weekend. Rodriguez has recovered quickly after landing on the 15-day injured list on May 15 with inflammation in his left shoulder, and if his bullpen session goes well on Tuesday, he may skip a minor-league rehab assignment entirely and rejoin Arizona's starting rotation when he's eligible to come off the IL on Saturday. When he returns, though, fantasy managers will want to be picky with how they use the 32-year-old veteran southpaw. Before getting injured, E-Rod had allowed four runs or more in four of his last five starts. Overall, it's been tough sledding for Rodriguez with a 7.05 ERA and 1.70 WHIP in his nine starts covering 44 2/3 innings.Source: Arizona Sports - Alex Weiner

Rangers Not Considering Using Kumar Rocker as Their Closer
Kumar Rocker (shoulder) as their closer. Rocker is currently on the 15-day injured list with a right-shoulder impingement and hasn't pitched in the big leagues since April 24. The 25-year-old's fastball-slider combination could play up in a relief role once he's healthy, but contrary to a report from USA TODAY's Bob Nightengale, the Rangers aren't currently considering using Rocker in a high-leverage relief role when he returns from his shoulder injury. The team's No. 2 prospect, per MLB Pipeline, struggled to an 8.10 ERA and 1.75 WHIP with 16 strikeouts and five walks in his first five starts this year before getting injured. He's expected to need at least two more minor-league rehab starts before returning to the majors.Source: DLLS Sports - Jeff Wilson
Texas Rangers general manager Chris Young and manager Bruce Bochy have both denied a report that the team is considering using right-hander Corey Seager Takes Live Batting Practice
Corey Seager (hamstring) took live batting practice on Monday before the series opener at Globe Life Park against the Toronto Blue Jays, according to The Dallas Morning News' Evan Grant. However, Grant says that he thinks the Rangers will wait at least a day to activate him from the 10-day injured list. Seager also faced live pitching on Saturday and is expected to rejoin the big-league roster during the current homestand that runs through Sunday. A struggling and beat-up Rangers offense could surely use the 31-year-old's bat back in the lineup sooner than later. Seager has already been on the IL two times this year with hamstring issues, but hopefully he has put the injury in the rearview mirror. The two-time World Series MVP will return to a .300/.346/.520 lash line with six homers, 12 RBI and 15 runs and will be a must-start in fantasy lineups when he's back.Source: Dallas Morning News - Evan Grant
Texas Rangers shortstop Harrison Bader Scratched With Sore Finger
Minnesota Twins outfielder Harrison Bader (finger) has been scratched from the lineup for Monday's series opener against the hosting Tampa Bay Rays with a sore finger, according to manager Rocco Baldelli. "I think he's gonna beread more...
Kyren Paris Optioned to Triple-A
Kyren Paris to Triple-A Salt Lake to make room on the active roster for recently signed infielder/outfielder Chris Taylor. Paris got out to a blistering start for the Angels in 2025 at the plate, but he's cooled off noticeably since the middle of April and is currently slashing a lowly .190/.266/.381 with a .647 OPS, six home runs, 11 RBI, 20 runs scored and seven stolen bases. The 23-year-old former second-rounder in 2019 will surely be back up in the big leagues at some point this year, but for now, the Angels are going to give the recently signed Taylor some run as a super-utility man. Paris has walked 10 times and struck out 59 times in his 140 trips to the plate in his third season in the big leagues, so he will go down on the farm to work on making more contact.Source: Erica Weston
The Los Angeles Angels announced on Monday that they optioned infielder Chris Taylor Signs With Angels, to Start on Monday
Chris Taylor signed an undisclosed deal with the Los Angeles Angels on Monday and will start in center field and bat eighth in his debut with the team for the series opener against the visiting New York Yankees and left-hander Ryan Yarbrough, sources tell The Athletic's Ken Rosenthal. In a corresponding move, the Angels optioned infielder Kyren Paris to Triple-A Salt Lake. The Dodgers released Taylor after 10 seasons with the team, but he quickly has latched on with the crosstown Angels and will start immediately on Memorial Day. The 34-year-old veteran swings and misses a lot and has a high strikeout rate, but he could play regularly with the Halos, making him immediately attractive in AL-only leagues. In 28 games with the Dodgers before being released, Taylor went 7-for-35 (.200) with no homers, two RBI and 13 punchouts.Source: The Athletic - Ken Rosenthal
