Ponzinibbio was almost finished in the first round, but he managed to stay composed long enough to survive and make it out of the round. Ponzinibbio attempted six takedowns but only managed to take Rodriguez down once. In the third round, Rodriguez landed a left hook that sent Ponzinibbio falling to the mat. After that, Rodriguez landed a single blow as he followed Ponzinibbio down, forcing the referee to stop the fight. In 11:12 of action, Ponzinibbio landed 49 significant strikes. --Alen Kurbasic

Daniel Marcos suffered a unanimous decision loss to Montel Jackson on the main card of UFC Des Moines on Saturday. Marcos came into the bout undefeated at 17-0 and was looking to break into the top 15. The fight was largely uneventful, but in the end, it was Jackson who did enough to earn a unanimous decision win. Montel Jackson extended his win streak to six when he defeated Daniel Marcos via unanimous decision on the main card of UFC Des Moines. Stephens had his moments in the first two rounds as he was trading blows with Jones.
