Damien Martinez Quiet in Preseason Debut
Damien Martinez made his preseason debut on Thursday against the Raiders, but he worked well behind George Holani, who seems to have the early lead in the competition for the third running back spot in Seattle. Martinez ran for just 10 yards on his six carries and caught both his targets for 15 more yards. He added 25 yards on two kickoff returns as well. The seventh-round pick out of Miami has stepped up in pass coverage and as a receiver, which was a question mark for him coming into the draft. However, Holani seems to be firmly ahead of him on the depth chart. Martinez will look to make more of an impact and earn a roster spot in the next two weeks as the Seahawks face the Chiefs and Packers in their other two preseason contests.Source: ESPN.com
Seattle Seahawks running back George Holani Totals 81 Yards in Seahawks Tie
George Holani finished Thursday's preseason opener with a team-high 61 rushing yards on seven carries and added 20 more yards on a catch out of the backfield. He had a 24-yard rushing touchdown for the Seahawks' first score of the night, and his longest play of the game. Holani was an undrafted free agent whom Seattle added before last season out of Boise State. Holani lost the battle for a roster spot to Kenny McIntosh last season, but he looked ready to claim a spot on this year's squad with a strong opener. Kenneth Walker and Zach Charbonnet will carry the load in the backfield, but Holani played ahead of rookie Damien Martinez and could earn his way into the running back rotation if injury strikes in Seattle.Source: ESPN

Johnny Wilson Tallies 73 Yards on Thursday
Johnny Wilson caught three balls on six targets for 73 yards in a 34-27 win over the Bengals in the first week of the preseason. Wilson had all of his touches come in the first half, including the longest catch of the night for Philadelphia-a 28-yard reception early in the second quarter. Wilson currently sits as the fourth WR listed on the Eagles depth chart, and had the second-most receiving yards for his team on Thursday. The sophomore wideout is not worth taking in fantasy drafts, but if Philly has to reach into their depth this year, watch out for him on waivers.Source: ESPN
Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Darius Cooper Scores in First Preseason Game
Darius Cooper had six receptions on seven targets for 82 yards and a touchdown in a 34-27 win over the Cincinnati Bengals. Cooper led his team in all of these stats, hauling in a 20-yard catch in the end zone for his longest play of the night. The undrafted rookie wideout is currently fighting for a roster spot come the regular season, but he clearly had some chemistry with backup QB Tanner McKee. Currently buried beneath stars at his position in A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith on the depth chart, it'll be hard for Cooper to find fantasy relevance this season.Source: ESPN
Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Will Shipley Leads Eagles Backfield with Long Run
Will Shipley carried the ball seven times for 48 yards and caught a pass for four yards in Thursday's 34-27 win over the Bengals. All of Shipley's action took place in the first quarter, with the hefty majority of it being on the first drive alone. On the Eagles' third play on offense, the second-string RB broke free for a 38-yard run that ultimately led to a touchdown. Going into the fantasy season, it's no secret that Saquon Barkley will dominate touches in the Philadelphia backfield. Shipley could be a strong option as a late-round handcuff in drafts or a mid-season waiver wire pickup if Barkley goes down.Source: ESPN
Philadelphia Eagles running back Tanner McKee Shines As Starter Against Bengals
Tanner McKee completed 20-of-25 pass attempts for 252 yards and two touchdowns, along with another score on a one-yard rush in Thursday's 34-27 preseason win over the Cincinnati Bengals. McKee played into the third quarter before being replaced by Dorian Thompson-Robinson, leading the Philly offense to five scoring drives out of the six he was on the field for. With this matchup coming on the first night of NFL preseason, it's hard to read too much into player performances. However, it does seem like McKee is locking up the No. 2 spot on the Eagles' depth chart. He may not have any immediate fantasy value, but on an offense surrounded by weapons, keep an eye on McKee in case Jalen Hurts ever needs a replacement.Source: ESPN
Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Aidan O'Connell Inconsistent in Preseason Debut
Aidan O'Connell had an up-and-down preseason debut Thursday against the Seahawks, completing 18 of 30 passes for 205 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions. He found second-year running back Dylan Laube for a six-yard score in the third quarter but otherwise led the offense to just two field goals. O'Connell is competing to retain the backup role behind Geno Smith, but his inconsistency leaves the door open. Sixth-round rookie Cam Miller, drafted out of North Dakota State, is pushing for the job and could close the gap with a strong showing in upcoming games.Source: NFL.com
Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Rasheen Ali "Banged Up," Status Worth Monitoring
Rasheen Ali was "banged up" during Thursday's 24-16 win over the Colts. Ali finished with nine carries for 37 yards and a touchdown, continuing his bid for a roster spot behind Derrick Henry and Justice Hill. While the top of the depth chart is set, Ali remains a long shot for fantasy value in 2025 without injuries ahead of him. The rookie logged just 10 carries for 31 yards across six games in 2024. His camp status is worth monitoring, especially in deep leagues or for dynasty stash consideration.Source: Jeff Zrebiec
Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh noted that running back Anthony Richardson Sr. Day-to-Day With Dislocated Finger
Anthony Richardson Sr. (finger) is considered day-to-day after dislocating his pinky finger, according to head coach Shane Steichen. Entering a critical third season, Richardson faces competition from veteran Daniel Jones, who was signed this offseason. While Richardson has shown flashes of star potential, injuries and inconsistency have held him back. He'll need preseason reps to lock down the starting job, making this injury something to monitor. If Richardson misses extended time, Jones could be in line to start Week 1. Fantasy managers with Colts pass-catchers or Richardson himself should watch for updates on his availability through the preseason. UPDATE: Richardson says his finger is sore after getting hurt in Thursday's preseason game against the Baltimore Ravens, but he thinks he'll be able to return soon.Source: Mike Garafolo
Indianapolis Colts quarterback Jared Verse Avoids Injury Scare After Early Exit From Practice
Source: Cameron DaSilva
Los Angeles Rams linebacker Jared Verse (knee), the 2024 Defensive Rookie of the Year, left Thursday's practice early after banging knees with defensive end Braden Fiske. Though he didn't return, Verse later posted on social media that he's "fine." The second-year standout logged 4.5 sacks last season and played a pivotal role in the Rams' playoff push. While the team will likely monitor him closely, the injury appears minor and shouldn't impact his Week 1 availability. Fantasy managers and IDP players should keep tabs on his status, but Verse remains a rising star in the Rams' aggressive defensive scheme.Justin Walley Out for Season With Torn ACL
Source: Ari Meirov
Indianapolis Colts rookie cornerback Justin Walley (knee) will miss the entire 2025 season after suffering a torn ACL. Walley had been competing for a starting role and was expected to bolster a secondary that tied for fifth in interceptions last year. With Walley out, the Colts are expected to lean on Jaylon Jones and JuJu Brents alongside Charvarius Ward in their defensive backfield. The injury is a blow to a defense that had high expectations entering the year. Still, in a division full of young quarterbacks, the Colts remain a viable late-round fantasy defense to monitor ahead of drafts.Ja'Marr Chase Has a Big Night on Thursday
Ja'Marr Chase caught all four of his targets for 77 yards in Thursday's preseason loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. He also scored a touchdown, finding the end zone off a 36-yard pass from quarterback Joe Burrow near the end of the first quarter. The 2021 No. 5 overall pick is coming off a monster year, finishing the 2024 campaign by amassing 127 catches for 1,708 yards and 17 touchdowns, all the highest marks of his career. As a result, many consider Chase to be the top fantasy option heading into Week 1. Of course, the 25-year-old has an excellent chance of remaining an elite fantasy performer, but he'll need to stay healthy. Burrow will also need to remain on the field, considering the signal-caller has battled plenty of injuries throughout his career. With a preseason loss in the books, the Bengals will look to get on track versus the Washington Commanders on August 18.Source: ESPN
Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Jaydon Blue Dealing With Bone Bruise
Jaydon Blue (heel) avoided serious injury after an MRI revealed a bone bruise, ruling out an ankle sprain. Blue has impressed in training camp and could push for touches behind Javonte Williams and Miles Sanders, both of whom have averaged under four yards per carry in each of the past two seasons. His burst and versatility have drawn praise from the coaching staff, and he may be more than just a depth piece. Fantasy managers in deeper leagues should stash Blue now, as he profiles as a potential breakout candidate in the Dallas offense.Source: Nick Harris
