According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Kansas City Chiefs defensive end George Karlaftis agreed to a four-year, $93 million contract extension with the team. The deal includes $62 million in guaranteed cash, and it will keep him in Kansas City through 2030. The 24-year-old has spent his entire career with the Chiefs since being selected in the first round in the 2022 NFL Draft. He's played well, totaling 115 tackles (68 solo) and 24.5 sacks in 49 regular-season appearances. Karlaftis still has room to develop, which could put him in the Pro Bowl conversation for years to come. His pairing with Chris Jones should also make life more difficult for opposing quarterbacks throughout the 2025 campaign and beyond.

Kyle Pitts (foot) "appears ready" for training camp. He didn't participate in offseason activities due to a strain in his foot. However, it seems the injury is finally behind him. The 24-year-old finished last season with 47 receptions for 602 yards and a career-high four touchdowns. Still, fantasy managers have been disappointed by his lack of consistent production over the years. With
Michael Penix Jr. under center, Pitts will have another shot to turn things around, although there's a good chance the latter's time in Atlanta could be coming to an end. With that in mind, the 2021 No. 4 overall pick has some work to do to convince managers he's worthy of a spot on fantasy rosters regardless of where he is playing moving ahead.

Detroit Lions cornerback Ennis Rakestraw (chest) suffered a chest injury during Sunday's 11-on-11 drills and did not return to practice. The second-year defensive back was projected to serve as the primary backup to Terrion Arnold at left cornerback. If Rakestraw is sidelined for an extended period, Rock Ya-Sin could move up the depth chart. Rakestraw's rookie season was limited after a hamstring injury removed him from a scheduled Week 2 start, and he ultimately appeared in eight games on special teams. The severity of Sunday's injury remains unknown, but it's a situation worth monitoring for the Lions defense.

Logan Woodside. He was originally a third-rounder by Atlanta in 2022 out of Cincinnati. Ridder made 17 starts in Atlanta in his first two years in the NFL before being traded to the Arizona Cardinals in 2024. He then appeared in six games with the Las Vegas Raiders in 2024 before joining the Bengals this summer. In three NFL seasons, Ridder has completed 63.6% of his pass attempts for 4,002 yards, 16 touchdowns and 14 interceptions in 25 games (18 starts). He will not be a lock to make the 53-man roster out of training camp.

Cincinnati Bengals rookie defensive end Shemar Stewart is the lone first-round pick in the 2024 NFL draft who has not signed his rookie deal, and he did not report to training camp with the rest of the team's rookies on Saturday, according to ESPN's Ben Baby. The 17th overall pick out of Texas A&M didn't take part in any of the offseason workouts, either, due to a contract dispute with the Bengals over the guaranteed money in his first NFL deal. A rumor floated earlier this week that Stewart was considering going back to college with the Aggies in 2025, but Texas A&M coach Mike Elko said Stewart has no intentions of returning to college ball. Stewart would likely need to sue the NCAA in order to gain a final year of collegiate eligibility. The 21-year-old should have a big role in his rookie season, but he's losing valuable development time leading up to it.

The New York Jets announced on Saturday that they placed edge rusher Jermaine Johnson (Achilles) and wide receiver
Irvin Charles (knee) on the Active/Physically Unable to Perform list. The team also placed linebacker Aaron Smith (undisclosed) on the Active/Non-Football Injury list. Johnson suffered a torn Achilles in Week 2 of last season and was unable to participate in OTAs or minicamp during the spring. However, head coach Aaron Glenn said that barring any setbacks, the 26-year-old defensive back should be ready for the start of the regular season in early September. The Jets can activate Johnson and Charles from the PUP list at any time during training camp. Johnson, a former first-rounder, was a Pro Bowler in 2023 when he had 55 tackles (36 solo), 7.5 sacks, 11 tackles for loss, 16 QB hits, an interception returned for a touchdown and seven pass breakups in 17 starts.

Detroit Lions offensive tackle Taylor Decker (shoulder) is on the Active/Physically Unable to Perform list to begin training camp due to a shoulder injury that required offseason surgery. However, head coach Dan Campbell said he expects Decker to start working back into practices in early September. "We feel like there's a good chance we can get (Decker) back after the Hall of Fame Game (July 31)," Campbell said. "He's good. Just cleaned up his shoulder a little bit and we're going to work him back in when he's ready to go. He's in a good place." The 30-year-old's availability for the Week 1 season opener against the division-rival Green Bay Packers is up in the air, but barring a setback, Decker shouldn't have to miss too much time (if any) to begin the 2025 season. Decker has started all 131 games (including playoffs) since he was taken 16th overall in the 2016 NFL draft.

Dallas Cowboys three-time All-Pro pass-rusher Micah Parsons will report to the team's training camp in California despite not having a long-term contract extension in place, sources tell FOX Sports' Jordan Schultz. This was always the expectation after Parsons took part in OTAs and minicamp this spring. The Cowboys and the 26-year-old have not worked anything out on a new deal, but it's probably just a matter of time before he becomes the new highest-paid non-quarterback in the NFL before the start of the 2025 season. Parsons, who has been a Pro Bowler in each of his four NFL seasons, might only take part in individual drills at camp. The former 12th overall pick in 2021 out of Penn State is an elite pass-rusher and will cost a pretty penny in IDP fantasy formats. Parsons has 52.5 sacks in his four NFL seasons, although he had a career-low 12 in 2024.

Detroit Lions defensive tackle Levi Onwuzurike (knee) will miss the entire 2025 campaign after suffering a torn ACL. He was placed on the physically unable to perform list last week, so now we know why. Onwuzurike just signed a one-year, $5.5 million extension with Detroit after a solid campaign in 2024. Last season, Onwuzurike registered 28 tackles, one tackle for loss, and 1.5 sacks in 16 games (10 starts) with the Lions. This is a tough blow to Detroit who was crushed by injuries last season. It's unclear how the team plans to fill the void at the tackle spot.

Ian Wheeler on the NFI list as well. The good news is that none of these players are reportedly dealing with anything serious. The Bears certainly need Johnson healthy by the start of the season. The two-time Pro Bowl defensive back figures to remain an important part of this defense going forward. He recorded 53 tackles, eight passes defended, and two interceptions in 17 games last season. Johnson figures to be ready to go by the beginning of the season.

Erick All Jr. (knee) has been placed on the active/physically unable to perform list on Saturday. This was expected as All is still recovering from a torn ACL that he suffered in Week 9 of last season. Before that, All registered 20 receptions for 158 yards in nine games (six starts) with the Bengals during his rookie season. There is no timetable for his return, so
Mike Gesicki should operate as the primary tight end to start the season. Gesicki is coming off a season where he recorded 65 receptions for 665 yards in 17 games. Those numbers figure to be on the rise considering the Bengals don't have much depth outside of their two star wide receivers.

The New Orleans Saints have signed defensive end Jonathan Bullard to an undisclosed deal on Saturday. Bullard has decided to head to New Orleans after visiting with the team last month. The 31-year-old has spent each of the last three seasons with the Minnesota Vikings. During that time, Bullard registered 108 tackles and three sacks across 46 games (38 starts) with the Vikings. Bullard is more known for his impact defending the run than passing situations. That being said, Bullard is likely going to be a rotational player on the Saints, but has enough talent to make an impact as a part-time player.

Jacksonville Jaguars linebacker Dennis Gardeck (undisclosed) was placed on the active/Physically Unable to Perform list on Saturday. The 30-year-old spent his entire career with the Arizona Cardinals. Unfortunately, he suffered a torn ACL in the Week 7 meeting with the Los Angeles Chargers, ending his 2024 season prematurely. Gardeck has appeared in 96 regular-season contests, totaling 156 tackles (117 solo), 17 sacks, and two interceptions. While he should provide valuable leadership to a Jags defense that struggled last season, he likely won't be a viable IDP contributor. Gardeck can begin practice immediately once medically cleared.
