Jonathan India Not in Lineup Saturday
Jonathan India (shoulder) is not in the lineup Saturday for the club's meeting with the Athletics. Nick Loftin will man the keystone in India's place and bat sixth. India exited the Royals' 6-4 loss to the Athletics in the seventh inning Friday after suffering a shoulder subluxation diving for a ball. The injury doesn't seem severe, but India will get Saturday off as he recovers. The former Red, 28, is hitting .249/.332/.336 with three home runs and 18 RBI over 274 plate appearances in his first season as a Royal.Source: MLB.com
Kansas City Royals second baseman Shane Bieber to Resume Throwing Program Soon
Shane Bieber (elbow) received a positive update this week on his surgically-repaired elbow. Bieber, who is recovering from April 2024 Tommy John surgery, had to halt his rehab last week after experiencing soreness. Dr. Keith Meister informed Bieber he's dealing with normal soreness, not any structural damage. Manager Stephen Vogt expects Bieber to "resume his throwing program in the next few days," per Josh Kirshenbaum of MLB.com. The former Cy Young winner's return to the majors is not imminent, but at least he remains on track to pitch in the bigs this year.Source: Josh Kirshenbaum - MLB.com
Cleveland Guardians right-hander Jaxson Dart Working as No. 2 QB During Offseason Workouts
Russell Wilson is working as the starting QB in offseason workouts, but rookie first-rounder Jaxson Dart has mostly worked as the QB2 ahead of veteran Jameis Winston. Dart has displayed some strong throws but also held the ball forever at times and was forced to scramble. The G-Men traded up to the 25th overall pick in April to grab Dart, so they obviously like his chances of becoming their franchise signal-caller. However, Wilson is going to get the first shot in 2025 while Dart sits and learns on the sidelines. But if Wilson struggles like he did at the end of last year in Pittsburgh, the 22-year-old from Ole Miss could get a shot sooner than later as head coach Brian Daboll and GM Joe Schoen try to save their jobs. Fantasy managers in redraft leagues can avoid Dart for now, but he's a solid dynasty/keeper stash.Source: The Athletic - Dan Duggan
Unsurprisingly, New York Giants quarterback Garrett Mitchell, Blake Perkins Starting Rehab Assignment on Monday
Garrett Mitchell (oblique) and Blake Perkins (lower leg) are slated to begin a rehab assignment on Monday in the Arizona Complex League. Mitchell has been held out of action since April with an oblique strain. He recently began participating in baseball activities and could return to the majors before the end of the month. During his first 25 games of the season, Mitchell held a .206/.286/.294 slash line with four doubles, no home runs, and three stolen bases. Perkins suffered this leg injury during spring training. He was initially placed on the 10-day injured list but was eventually shifted to the 60-day injured list. Given his current status, fantasy managers should expect Perkins to participate in a more extended rehab assignment than Mitchell. Mitchell will likely compete for a full-time role while Perkins will compete for a depth role when they return to action.Source: Curt Hogg
Milwaukee Brewers outfielders Francisco Alvarez Sitting on Saturday
Francisco Alvarez is not in Saturday's lineup when they continue a series against the Tampa Bay Rays. The backstop has started in each of the past two games. During this two-game stretch, Alvarez has gone 0-for-6 at the plate with two walks and two strikeouts. This afternoon, the Mets will give Luis Torrens the nod behind the dish. He will bat in the eight hole. Over his previous 17 games, Alvarez has struggled at the plate, posting a modest .207/.303/.293 line with just two doubles and one home run. Fantasy managers should expect Alvarez to return to the starting nine on Sunday. The Mets are best to fade in DFS this afternoon as they will face Tampa Bay right-hander Drew Rasmussen. Rasmussen has been one of the top pitchers in the American League this season, posting a stellar 2.22 ERA.Source: MLB.com
New York Mets catcher Xavier Gipson's Roster Spot Could be in Jeopardy
Xavier Gipson has been a non-contributor as a wide receiver on offense despite fighting his way onto the active roster in his first year in the NFL and then scoring a game-winning, punt-return touchdown in his first game in 2023. The Athletic's Zack Rosenblatt write that Gipson's roster spot is in jeopardy heading into training camp with undrafted rookie wideout Jamaal Pritchett pushing him. The 24-year-old is currently the front-runner to be New York's punt returner, but it's not a lock. He caught 21 of 38 targets for 229 yards and no touchdowns on offense in 2023 but regressed last year and caught just six passes for 39 yards and a TD in 17 games (no starts). Gipson isn't anywhere near the fantasy radar heading into the 2025 season.Source: The Athletic - Zack Rosenblatt
New York Jets former undrafted wide receiver Max Scherzer Strikes Out Four in Rehab Outing
Max Scherzer (thumb) tossed 4 1/3 innings during his first rehab outing on Friday evening. Facing Triple-A Columbus, Scherzer struck out four batters and allowed four hits and two runs. He did not allow a walk. This was a strong showing for the veteran, who is working his way back from a thumb injury that has kept him sidelined for most of the campaign. Scherzer hit the injured list shortly after his season debut. However, given that he already logged 56 pitches in this outing, he may only need a few more outings before returning to the majors. Scherzer battled injuries last season as well, but was effective when on the bump, posting a 3.95 ERA with a strong 1.15 WHIP across 43 1/3 innings. When he returns, he will likely replace Eric Lauer in the rotation.Source: MiLB.com
Toronto Blue Jays right-handed pitcher Josh Reynolds the Front-Runner for WR2 Duties

Garrett Wilson's Stock Up This Offseason
Garrett Wilson's stock is up this offseason. Wilson was the best player on the field for all of the spring practices open to the media while making highlight-reel catches and rarely dropping any of quarterback Justin Fields' passes. The new coaching staff is highlighting Wilson's ability to improvise on routes while also making sure Wilson is where Fields expects him to be on any given play. Outside of running back Breece Hall, the team doesn't have a clear No. 2 pass-catcher, which leads Rosenblatt to speculate that Wilson could set a Jets record for targets and catches in 2025. Despite seeking a new contract, the 24-year-old was present for OTAs and minicamp. RotoBaller has him ranked as the No. 16 fantasy wideout, but if Fields makes strides as a passer, Wilson has clear WR1 upside this year.Source: The Athletic - Zack Rosenblatt
The Athletic's Zack Rosenblatt writes that New York Jets wide receiver Evan Carter Out of Saturday's Lineup
Evan Carter (wrist) is not in Saturday's lineup when the Rangers continue a series against the Chicago White Sox. Carter was removed from Friday's game after suffering a wrist injury. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his status leading up to Sunday's game. This afternoon, the Rangers will give Wyatt Langford the start in center field, which will open left field for Sam Haggerty. Carter has begun to heat up at the plate following his rough start to the season. Over his last five games, the former top prospect has posted a stellar .556/.636/1.167 slash line with two doubles, three home runs, and two stolen bases. This afternoon, the Rangers are a viable target in DFS as they face Chicago right-hander Mike Vasil.Source: MLB.com
Texas Rangers outfielder Jordan Beck Sitting on Saturday
Jordan Beck is not in Saturday's lineup when the Rockies continue a series against the Atlanta Braves. Beck has been in the starting nine in each of the past nine games. During this stretch, the 24-year-old has posted a .333/.381/.410 line with three doubles, four RBI, one stolen base, and a 7:3 K:BB. This afternoon, the Rockies will give Sam Hillard the nod in left field. Hillard will also bat at the top of the lineup. Fantasy managers should expect Beck to return to action on Sunday. Through 59 games this season, Beck has been productive, holding a .265/.323/.465 slash line with eight home runs and eight stolen bases. This afternoon, the Rockies are best to fade in DFS as they will face Atlanta right-hander Spencer Strider.Source: MLB.com

Spencer Arrighetti Shifted to 60-Day Injured List
Spencer Arrighetti (thumb) to the 60-day injured list on Saturday. The 25-year-old has been sidelined with a fractured thumb since April. Arrighetti suffered this injury during a batting practice session. Arrighetti only made two starts before hitting the injured list. During this brief 9 2/3 inning stretch, Arrighetti held a 5.59 ERA with a 0.93 WHIP. He struck out eight batters and allowed walks at a high 12.8% rate. Arrighetti made his MLB debut last season and began to find his footing during the second half of the campaign, posting a 3.18 ERA with a 1.17 WHIP over his final 65 innings of work. While Arrighetti recently began playing catch from 70 feet, he still has a long road ahead of him. The team has yet to provide a detailed timeline. As a result, he is only worth stashing in 12+ team leagues.Source: Brian McTaggart

Ryan Jeffers Getting a Breather Versus Astros
Ryan Jeffers will retreat to the bench on Saturday in Houston against the Astros at Daikin Park. Christian Vazquez is doing the catching for right-hander Joe Ryan and will hit ninth against Astros right-hander Hunter Brown. Jeffers has taken over primary catching duties for the Twins this year over Vazquez and is currently slashing .243/.341/.376 with four home runs, 21 RBI and 21 runs scored in 189 at-bats. He's gone hitless in his last three games and has struggled at the plate so far in June, going 6-for-32 (.188) with a homer, a double, three RBI, five runs scored, six walks and 10 strikeouts. The 34-year-old Vazquez offers almost nothing with his bat for fantasy managers, as he comes into Saturday's tilt hitting .204 (21-for-103) with two homers, nine RBI and 10 runs scored. He has never faced Brown in his career.Source: MLB.com
Minnesota Twins catcher Royce Lewis Not in Saturday's Lineup
Royce Lewis (hamstring) is not in the starting lineup for Saturday's contest against the hosting Houston Astros at Daikin Park. Brooks Lee will handle third base duties for the Twins and will hit sixth against Astros right-hander Hunter Brown. Lewis suffered a left-hamstring strain in Friday night's loss to the Astros, so it's no surprise the oft-injured slugger is out for the second game of the series. Given the 26-year-old's lengthy injury history and the fact he already spent time this year with a hamstring injury to the same leg, fantasy managers shouldn't be surprised if Lewis ends up back on the IL with this new hammy ailment. The former first overall pick in 2017 hit his second homer of the season on Friday night, but he's been a disappointment overall in just 99 at-bats, batting just .202 with nine RBI and 10 runs scored.Source: MLB.com
Minnesota Twins third baseman Xavier Edwards Getting Saturday Off
Xavier Edwards is out of the starting lineup for Saturday's contest in D.C. against the hosting Washington Nationals. Javier Sanoja will get the start at the keystone and will hit ninth against Nationals right-hander Trevor Williams. After returning from a stint on the injured list, the switching-hitting Edwards has shifted over to second base for the Fish. Since his return on May 31, the 25-year-old has been swinging the bat well, going 14-for-40 (.350) with three doubles, four RBI and six runs scored in 11 games played. Edwards has little power to speak of, but he has 31 stolen bases in 2024 and has 11 on the year through 53 games this year, making him a useful middle infielder in fantasy for his speed. Sanoja will be a desperation DFS play out of the nine-hole for Saturday's action. He's hit .246 (34-for-138) this year with a homer and 14 RBI.Source: MLB.com

Keon Coleman Inconsistent at Minicamp
Keon Coleman showed inconsistency in mandatory minicamp practice this week, according to The Athletic's Joe Buscaglia. Coleman has shown the ability to make big plays occasionally, but then he'll have regrettable reps that question his ability to be a consistent playmaker for the Bills. The 22-year-old's on-ball concerns and his intermediate to deep separation skills are things that he will have to improve on if he wants to take the next step in 2025. He had only 29 catches for 556 yards and four touchdowns in 13 regular-season games in 2024 but also dealt with a chipped bone in his wrist that affected his production down the stretch. The former second-rounder could be more effective in a bigger role this year, but the addition of Joshua Palmer could also be hindrance.Source: The Athletic - Joe Buscaglia
Much like his rookie season last year, Buffalo Bills second-year wide receiver Mitchell Trubisky Not a Lock for Backup Job

Dalton Kincaid Adds Strength and Bulk
Dalton Kincaid added both strength and bulk to his frame this offseason after a disappointing second season in 2024. He caught 73 of 91 targets for 673 yards and two touchdowns in 16 games in his rookie season but had a 44-448-2 line in 13 games last year. The Bills have defended the 25-year-old's second season because of the knee injuries that defined how much he could play once he returned in Week 15 after missing three games. The Athletic's Joe Buscaglia says that the ultimate test for Kincaid will be if he can increase his snap percentage and stay on the field for more run-blocking reps. He has the natural pass-catching skills to rebound as one of quarterback Josh Allen's most reliable targets. Kincaid will come at a little discount this year and should be considered a low-end TE1/high-end TE2 with upside.Source: The Athletic - Joe Buscaglia
Buffalo Bills general manager Brandon Beane said that tight end James Cook a Full Participant in Mandatory Minicamp
James Cook, despite seeking a contract extension, was a full participant in the team's three-day mandatory minicamp this week. General manager Brandon Beane said the "relationship's very good and I know [Cook's] going to be ready to roll when we get to [training camp in] Rochester." Cook said earlier this week that he plans to be at training camp this summer, but he didn't specify if he'd actually be taking part in workouts. Beane said Cook "looks good out there. You can tell he's been working." It sounds like the two sides are working towards a deal, but Cook could hold in during training camp. Cook was the RB8 in half-PPR scoring in 2024 with his second straight 1,000-yard rushing season and a league-high 16 rushing TDs. Regression is coming in the TD department after he scored four rushing touchdowns in his first two NFL seasons.Source: ESPN.com - Alaina Getzenberg
ESPN's Alaina Getzenberg writes that Buffalo Bills running back Tyrese Haliburton Struggles in Friday's Loss to OKC
Tyrese Haliburton struggled in Friday's loss to OKC. He had 18 points, his second-highest mark of the NBA Finals. However, after going 4-for-8 from downtown in Game 3, the 25-year-old made just one of his seven tries from behind the arc in Game 4. Haliburton is now averaging 17.8 points, 7.5 assists, and 6.0 rebounds throughout the series. He has also improved on the defensive end. Unfortunately, Haliburton hasn't been consistent offensively. In addition, he has amassed at least four turnovers in the last three contests, making him a somewhat risky DFS option for Game 5 on Monday evening.Source: ESPN
Indiana Pacers guard Jacob Misiorowski Expected to Make Next Start
Jacob Misiorowski (ankle) is expected to make his next start against the Chicago Cubs. Misiorowski exited his MLB debut early on Thursday after suffering an ankle/leg injury. However, following the game, Misiorowski noted that he felt fine and had minor swelling in his left ankle. Given this update, the hard-throwing right-hander was able to avoid a significant injury. In his MLB debut, Misiorowski was quite impressive, tossing five no-hit innings against the Cardinals. In this outing, he struck out five batters and allowed four walks. Earlier this season, in Triple-A, the top-ranked pitcher in the Milwaukee system performed at a high level, tossing 63 1/3 innings to the tune of a 2.13 ERA with a 1.09 WHIP. During this stretch, he struck out 80 batters. Even though he will have a tough task in his next start against the Cubs, he is worth starting in all leagues given his production at Triple-A and promising debut.Source: Adam McCalvy
Milwaukee Brewers right-handed pitching prospect Chet Holmgren Dominates the Glass in Game 4
Chet Holmgren had another double-double in Friday's win over the Indiana Pacers. The 2022 No. 2 overall pick had 14 points, a dip from the 20 he had in Game 3, but he made up for it by amassing a game-high 15 boards, his highest rebounding total of the series. Isaiah Hartenstein got the start for Game 4 on Friday evening. If Hartenstein gets another run with the first five on Monday in Oklahoma City, the door could be open for another solid rebounding night from Holmgren, giving him more than enough upside for DFS managers.Source: ESPN
Oklahoma City Thunder forward/center Shai Gilgeous-Alexander Leads the Way in Game 4
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander scored a game-high 35 points in Friday's win over the Indiana Pacers. He added three steals and a block. OKC had trouble keeping up with Indiana throughout the night. However, SGA put the Thunder on his back by scoring 15 of his 35 points in the fourth quarter while sinking six free-throws in the final minute of the contest. With the series knotted at two games each, both clubs will head back to Oklahoma City for Game 5 on Monday. Gilgeous-Alexander is now averaging 32.8 points during the NBA Finals, so Pacers head coach Rick Carlisle will need to make adjustments. With that said, until the 26-year-old shows signs of regression, he remains a top option for DFS managers.Source: ESPN
Oklahoma City Thunder guard Jalen Williams Has a Quality Showing on Friday Night
Jalen Williams scored 27 points in Friday's win over the Indiana Pacers. He added seven rebounds and three assists. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander led the way by finishing with a game-high 35 points. However, despite failing to drain a three-point shot, the 24-year-old still had his best showing of the NBA Finals on Friday night. Williams' usage has steadily increased throughout the series. Assuming Indiana continues to focus its defensive efforts on SGA moving ahead, which is certainly possible, Williams' usage should continue to trend up, giving him plenty of upside for DFS managers for Game 5 on Monday evening.Source: ESPN
Oklahoma City Thunder forward Logan Webb Limits Dodgers to Two Hits in Win
Logan Webb held the Dodgers to two runs in seven innings of work on Friday, allowing two hits (one home run) and three walks while striking out four batters on the way to picking up his sixth win of the season in the 6-2 victory over Los Angeles. It was also the righty's 11th quality start of the year, which is tied for the most in the majors. All in all, the 28-year-old owns a 2.58 ERA (2.34 FIP), 1.12 WHIP, and a strong 22.4 percent K-BB%. His next start lines up with Cleveland next Thursday in San Francisco, a team with the seventh-fewest runs per game average so far this season.Source: ESPN
San Francisco Giants pitcher Matt Olson Collects Three Hits, Drives in Three on Friday
Matt Olson went 3-for-4 on Friday, including a double, three RBI, and three runs scored in a 12-4 win over the Rockies. The 31-year-old is riding a five-game hit streak and has reached base safely via hit or walk in 15 consecutive contests, going 16-for-55 (.291) with seven doubles, two home runs, 13 RBI, 11 runs scored, and a 10:12 BB:K over that span. Although the batting average has tailed off over the last two seasons, the 2x All-Star is having another fine year, slashing .246/.350/.476 with 14 home runs, a .359 wOBA, and a 130 wRC+. The left-handed slugger will face off with rookie Chase Dollander in Colorado on Saturday, who brings a 6.85 ERA and 1.54 WHIP into the matchup, and with the Braves owning the highest implied run total on the board, Olson should be in play as a DFS option.Source: ESPN
