The Green Bay Packers released Pro Bowl pass-rusher Za'Darius Smith on Monday, according to a source. Smith's salary cap number of $27.6 million this year was never going to work for a team trying to get under the cap in 2022. The 29-year-old also played in only one game last season due to a back injury. Also on Monday, the Packers signed edge rusher Preston Smith to a four-year deal, so he and Rashan Gary will hold down the linebacker spots in Green Bay moving forward. If he's back to full health, Za'Darius Smith should have no problem finding interest on the open market after he had a combined 26 sacks in 2019 and 2020 for the Packers.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerRead More News
