Packers Need Upgrades At The Safety Position
10 months agoThe Green Bay Packers are going to need upgrades at the safety position this offseason, writes The Athletic's Matt Schneidman. Their top three safeties from last year, Darnell Savage Jr., Jonathan Owens and Rudy Ford, will all be unrestricted free agents next month. New defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley loves one-high safety looks, which require an athletic playmaking safety deep in the middle of the field on an island. It doesn't matter how the Packers look to address the position, whether it be through free agency or the draft, but it's going to be an important position for them in 2024.
