Minnesota Twins designated hitter Nelson Cruz is getting the day off on Tuesday and is not in the lineup for the contest against the White Sox. This is just the second day off of the season for Cruz, who owns a .285/.336./.518 slash line with nine homers and 23 RBI in 38 games played. Jorge Polanco, who is swinging a hot bat, will get a breather from the field and serve as the designated hitter. He'll bat third against right-hander Lance Lynn.--Tim Capurso
