Nationals Offer Anthony Rendon $210 Million Extension
5 years agoThe Washington Nationals offered third baseman Anthony Rendon a seven-year deal worth between $210 million and $215 million in early September, according to The Washington Post's Barry Svrluga. The offer shouldn't keep Rendon from exploring the free-agent market after the postseason, especially since he'll be the top available position player. The superstar third baseman is in the discussion for National League Most Valuable Player after posting career highs in home runs (34), RBI (126), runs (117), average (.319) and total bases (326). No matter what, Rendon is getting paid. A postseason run for the Nats would help Rendon's cause even more. He's made a case to be a first-round fantasy pick in 2020.
