Miles Mikolas Resumes Throwing Bullpens
3 years agoSt. Louis Cardinals starting pitcher Miles Mikolas (forearm) has resumed throwing bullpen sessions and hopes to go on a rehab assignment by the end of July. The Cardinals are being careful with Mikolas after he's already had two month-long injuries in 2021, so expect him to go on a longer minor league rehab assignment in order for him to build up his innings gradually. St. Louis could activate him before he's built up for a full starter's workload, possibly by the second half of August. The 32-year-old right-hander reinjured his forearm on May 22 after having surgery to fix the flexor tendon in his right forearm last July. Mikolas has made just the one start this season and should remain on the waiver wire in mixed leagues for the rest of the season.
