Mike Soroka Won't Have Restrictions Next Spring
2 years agoAs things currently stand, Atlanta Braves starting pitcher Mike Soroka (Achilles) will come to spring training next year without any restrictions. Soroka will be looking to prove that he can be effective after having surgery on his right Achilles tendon twice. The 25-year-old also dealt with right elbow soreness while pitching in the minor leagues and landed on the injured list at Triple-A Gwinnett in late September. In six starts with High-A Rome and Gwinnett this year, Soroka had a 5.40 ERA, 1.12 WHIP, 25 strikeouts and seven walks in 25 innings pitched. He was an All-Star in his second big-league season in 2019, but he's made only three starts in the last two years due to Achilles injuries, which will keep his fantasy cost down entering 2023 drafts.
