Edmonton Oilers goaltender Mike Smith picked up his first win in his new uniform on Wednesday night, turning aside 24 of 26 shots faced en route to his team's 3-2 defeat over the Vancouver Canucks. The 37-year-old, who signed a one-year deal with Edmonton over the summer, is currently battling fellow Oilers netminder Mikko Koskinen for starting duties in the crease. Having posted a 2.73 goals-against average and a .898 save percentage in 40 starts for Calgary last season, Smith is out to prove that his 2018-2019 was just an outlier and that he can still be a reliable netminder in this league. He'll look to continue his solid play in his team's next contest versus the Kings on Saturday.--Chase Davis - RotoBaller
