Mike Moustakas 2021 Fantasy Outlook: A Reliable Power Bat At A Discount
4 years agoIn his first year with the Cincinnati Reds, second baseman/third baseman Mike Moustakas struggled to stay on the field, playing just 44 of the team's 60 games during the shortened 2020 season. When he was on the field, however, he was the same old guy. He hit home runs and drove in runs at a strong rate (30 homers, 100 RBI) and walked enough (11%) to keep fantasy managers afloat in on-base percentage. Given how long he has been in the league, you might be surprised to find out that he will be just 32 years old for the duration of the 2021 season. The Moose got a boost this offseason with the news that the Reds are planning on moving Eugenio Suarez back to shortstop. This makes Moustakas the everyday third baseman, giving him versatility with 2B/3B eligibility on every site. A great pick at his current price.
