Jonah Tong Punches Out Eight in Latest Gem
New York Mets pitching prospect Jonah Tong continued his incredible season on Tuesday evening, logging five shutout innings against Double-A Somerset. In this contest, the budding ace allowed just three hits and two walks. He struck out eight. Over his last 37 2/3 innings of work, Tong has posted a remarkable 0.96 ERA with a 0.88 WHIP. During this near-perfect stretch, the former seventh-round pick has struck out 58 batters and allowed only 15 free passes. Overall, through 97 total innings at Double-A Binghamton this season, the 22-year-old has posted a stellar 1.58 ERA, 0.94 WHIP, and a 154:44 K:BB. Fantasy managers should continue to keep a close eye on Tong. While he is not expected to reach Queens this season, he should be in the mix to earn a taste of Triple-A action, which would set him up for a 2026 MLB debut.
