Mike Clevinger Scratched With An Illness Saturday
3 years agoSan Diego Padres starting pitcher Mike Clevinger (illness) has been scratched from his start against the Colorado Rockies on Saturday. He was slated to pitch in Game 1 of the team's doubleheader, but he came down with an illness. Nick Martinez will now start Game 1 in his place with MacKenzie Gore remaining the team's starter for Game 2. The Padres haven't revealed any specifics on Clevinger's illness, but we should know more soon. The 31-year-old right-hander has made four starts so far this year and he's gone 1-0 with a 3.18 ERA and a 1.12 WHIP.
