Miguel Vargas Sitting Against Giants
4 months agoChicago White Sox infielder/outfielder Miguel Vargas is out of the team's starting lineup on Wednesday for the series finale at Oracle Park against the San Francisco Giants. With Vargas on the bench, Lenyn Sosa will start at third base and will bat seventh against Giants right-hander Logan Webb. Vargas, who was acquired from the Los Angeles Dodgers at the deadline in late July in the trade that sent right-hander Jack Flaherty to LA, could find himself on the bench more often if he continues to slump at the plate. The 24-year-old Cuban has gone just 5-for-54 (.093) with a homer, double, three RBI and 17 strikeouts in 16 games with a bigger role in his move to Chicago. Overall this year, he's hit just .176/.271/.312 with four home runs, 12 RBI and 14 runs scored in 125 at-bats. Vargas is losing his fantasy appeal in AL-only leagues quickly.
