Michael Pineda To Make A Rehab Start Thursday
3 years agoMinnesota Twins starting pitcher Michael Pineda (elbow) will make a rehab start for Triple-A St. Paul on Thursday. Pineda landed on the 10-day injured list two weeks ago with right elbow inflammation but is slowly working his way back. Barring any setbacks during his rehab outing, the right-hander could return in early to mid-July. The 32-year-old is 3-4 on the season with a 3.70 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and 51/15 K/BB in his 11 starts covering 56 innings. Based on his slow progress, don't be surprised if the Twins require him to make more than just one rehab appearance in the minors. Pineda will remain a decent back-end fantasy starter when he returns to the Twins rotation.
