Michael Massey Sitting Out Versus White Sox
Kansas City Royals second baseman Michael Massey is not in the team's starting lineup for Friday's series opener on the road against the division-rival Chicago White Sox. Rookie Jac Caglianone is serving as the team's designated hitter and is batting sixth against White Sox right-hander Davis Martin. Massey could start to lose more playing time with Caglianone, one of the best prospects in all of baseball, now in town. The 27-year-old left-handed hitter is barely above the Mendoza Line as a hitter and has contributed just two home runs, 14 RBI, 10 runs scored and a stolen base in 195 at-bats over 54 games in his fourth season in the big leagues. In his last seven games since May 24, Massey has gone 4-for-27 (.148) with a run scored, one walk and five strikeouts. He should be on the waiver wire in all mixed fantasy leagues.
