Michael Fulmer Avoids Arbitration
5 years agoThe Detroit Tigers avoided salary arbitration with starting pitcher Michael Fulmer on Monday night by agreeing to a one-year, $2.8 million deal, according to a person with knowledge of the situation. Fulmer, who turns 27 years old in March, didn't pitch at all in 2019 after having Tommy John surgery in late March. The right-hander could return to Detroit in the second half of the 2020 season, but he won't be on any redraft radars this spring. An All-Star in 2017 and the 2016 American League Rookie of the Year, Fulmer has gone 24-31 with a 3.81 ERA and 1.18 WHIP in 75 career starts in three seasons for the Tigers.
