Mets Acquiring Francisco Lindor, Carlos Carrasco
4 years agoThe New York Mets are finalizing a deal to acquire shortstop Francisco Lindor and starting pitcher Carlos Carrasco from Cleveland in exchange for shortstop Amed Rosario, infielder Andres Gimenez, outfielder Isaiah Greene and right-hander Josh Wolf, according to a source. Lindor, who was set to become a free agent after the 2021 season, is a clear upgrade over Rosario at the 6. The inclusion of both Rosario and Gimenez means that the Mets are serious about signing Lindor long-term. Lindor was already going to be an elite fantasy shortstop for his power/speed profile, but he'll be joining a potentially stronger lineup in Queens. He's a four-time All-Star and has received MVP votes in every season from 2016-19. Carrasco, 33, had a 2.91 ERA in 12 starts in 2020 and should enter the 2021 season as a very solid SP2 for fantasy managers, although he's moving to a much tougher division in the NL East.
