Max Scherzer To Make His Second Double-A Start Tuesday
Max Scherzer (oblique) is set to make his second rehab start at Double-A Binghamton on Tuesday. The 37-year-old made his first rehab outing last Tuesday at Double-A. He pitched 3 1/3 innings, allowing three hits, one walk and two earned runs while striking out six. Scherzer stated that his oblique felt fine the day after his last start, but also added that he'd been dealing with some soreness this past week. He said, "I was sore, as expected. I am doing a lot. I passed all the tests, there is no setback whatsoever, so this is just the nature of coming back from this injury." There's a chance Scherzer's next start after Tuesday could be with the Mets this coming weekend or early next week, but we'll know more about the likelihood of that in the coming days.
