Matt McLain Confident In Opening Day Health
9 months agoCincinnati Reds second baseman Matt McLain (oblique) said Tuesday that he will "totally" be ready to start the 2024 regular season healthy after missing most of spring training with an oblique injury. The 24-year-old, who made his Cactus League debut on Sunday, has the support of manager David Bell, who said Tuesday, "I am confident he will be ready to go." McLain will look to pick up where he left off in 2023, when he slashed .290/.357/.507 with 16 home runs, 65 runs scored, 50 RBI, and 14 stolen bases in 403 plate appearances.
