Marquise Brown, If He Can Stay Healthy, Set To Be Chiefs WR3 In 2025
Marquise Brown was re-signed by his team this offseason after missing nearly all of 2024 with an injury to his sternoclavicular joint. The dislocation occurred in a preseason game. Brown is now set to slot in behind Rashee Rice (knee) and Xavier Worthy as the WR3, though he could reasonably compete with Worthy for a WR2 role of sorts. That has solid fantasy value if quarterback Patrick Mahomes can fix his deep-ball issues. Mahomes struggled mightily with deep passing in 2024 and 2023 after being one of the best quarterbacks in the league in that area in previous seasons. It's hard to imagine exactly why this is happening, though it could be some sort of permanent injury. Still, Brown figures to work the intermediate and deep middle of the field often, as he has great speed, but isn't the speedster Worthy is and doesn't have the yards-after-catch ability Rice possesses. He's a nice bench stash or dart throw in deeper leagues with intriguing contingent upside.
