Madison Bumgarner Solid In 2018 Debut
7 years agoSan Francisco Giants starting pitcher Madison Bumgarner made his 2018 debut Tuesday night against the Diamondbacks and went six innings, allowing two runs on eight hits while striking out three on 82 pitches. This was a very encouraging start from the ace, who is fresh off of the 60-day disabled list. Though the strikeout total feels low, Bumgarner did not issue a walk and looked to have very good control overall. As great as it is to see him come back and pitch well, Arizona currently has the 30th-ranked offense in baseball. Bumgarner will take on a much tougher matchup in his next outing this Sunday at Washington, so don't be shocked if he doesn't have the best start while he shakes off the rust. That being said, Bumgarner is a consistent ace and should be started in all formats going forward.
